ACBF holds Brown Bag Seminar on Peace, Security, Conflict and Capacity Development

On 9 July 2010, the Knowledge and Learning Department (KEL) hosted a Brown Bag Seminar on Peace, Security, Conflict and Capacity Development.  The presenter of the seminar was Mr Olu Arowobusoye, ACBF Chief, Board & External Affairs.

President Blaise Compaore attends ACBF/ADB High Level Forum in Tunis on ‘Building Capacity in Post-Conflict Countries'.
The African Capacity Building Foundation, in partnership with the African Development Bank, organized a High-Level Forum with African Heads of State in Tunis, as part of ACBF’s Extra-ordinary Board of Governors Meeting.

President Johnson Sirleaf reaffirms Liberia’s commitment to ACBF and urges multi-pronged approach to post conflict reconstruction efforts.
Speaking via videoconference at the Heads of State High Level Forum in Tunis on 23rd March, Liberia’s President, HE Madame Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, urged African leaders and development partners to continue on their irreversible path towards achieving rapid, inclusive and sustainable growth, putting emphasis on building the capacities of, and providing more opportunities for, Africa’s greatest asset – her people.

THE AFRICAN CAPACITY BUILDING FOUNDATION HOLDS ITS EXTRAORDINARY BAORD OF GOVERNORS MEETING IN TUNIS
25-26 MARCH 2010: TUNIS The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) is holding its Extra-Ordinary Board of Governors Meeting on 25-26 March 2010, in Tunis. The key objectives of this meeting include discussions on progress made by the Foundation since 2009; discussions on how to further strengthen ACBF’s delivery capability; and harnessing the input and collaboration of the Board of Governors in support of the ACBF 20th anniversary celebrations.

ACBF, AfDB joint mission to Burkina Faso

On 15 February 2010, a joint mission, of the  African Capacity Building Foundation comprising Dr. Frannie  Léautier, Executive Secretary, Dr. Coffi Noumon, Manager, Operations West and North Africa; Mr. Franklin Mutahakana, Senior Aide to the Executive Secretary and  AfDB representatives  was in Ouagadougou to meet with the  Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, H.E. Tertius Zongo.

ACBF GRANTS USD 2 MILLION TO THE ZIMBABWE ECONOMIC POLICY ANLYSIS AND RESEARCH UNIT, HARARE, ZIMBABWE
The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) signed a Grant Agreement with the Zimbabwe Economic Policy Analysis and Research Unit (ZEPARU) for a second-phase Grant of USD 2 million for four years. The Grant was signed on 3 February 2010.

ACBF provides a US$1.9 million grant to the ECOWAS Commission

On 6 May 2009, in Abuja, Nigeria, the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) signed a US$ 1.92 million Grant Agreement that will support human and institutional capacity building efforts in the Commission through the establishment of an Economic Policy Analysis Unit (EPAU).

The African Forum for Utility Regulators holds its 6th Annual Conference and General Assembly under the theme: Pro-Poor Regulation: Meeting the Millennium Development Goals for Infrastructure Services in Africa

ACBF SIGNS A US$1.7 MILLION GRANT WITH THE INSTITUTE FOR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE

On 9 April 2009, in Accra, Ghana, the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) signed a Grant Agreement of US$1.7 million with the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG). The Grant will finance the implementation of the second phase (four years) of the IDEG Interface Capacity Building Project (IDEG-CAP II).
