ACBF SIGNS A US$
1.5 MILLION GRANT AGREEMENT WITH AFRISTAT
On 21 December 2008, in Bamako, Mali, the African
Capacity Building Foundation ACBF) and the Observatoire
Economique et Statistique d’Afrique subsaharienne
(AFRISTAT) signed a Grant Agreement of US$1.5 million
to support the second phase of the Labour Market
Information System (LMIS-AFRISTAT) project. AFRISTAT
is a regional initiative with headquarters in Bamako,
Mali. Other countries covered by the project include
Cameroon, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia. The goal of
the project is to improve labour market information
and strengthen poverty monitoring systems that facilitate
the collection and dissemination of information for
the formulation and evaluation of public policies.

Capacity Building Forum (Maputo Forum) was held on
1-3 August 2007 in Maputo, Mozambique. Organized
by the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF),
Africa's premier capacity building institution, the
Forum was hosted by the Government of Mozambique,
the main co-sponsor. Other co-sponsors consisted
of the African Union Commission, the African Development
Bank, the African Economic Research Consortium, Canadian
International Development Agency, Chr. Michelsen
Institute, Commonwealth Secretariat, Economic Commission
