Plusieurs réformes d ‘envergure ont été réalisées depuis le milieu des années 80 qui ont permis d’aboutir à des résultats importants: cadre macro-économique assaini et stabilisé, amélioration du taux de croissance de l’économie de 4,6% par an en moyenne sur la période 1998 à 2001, inflation maîtrisée autour de 5%, amélioration de l’environnement institutionnel, juridique et judiciaire des affaires.
