KMD Launches Series on “Findings
and Recommendations”
ACBF Knowledge Management
Department (KMD) has introduced a Series
on “Findings and Recommendations” (FIRE)
to enhance the dissemination of its knowledge
products and services to the Foundation’s
Operations Departments. This series provides
a crisp summary of Lessons Notes, Occasional
Papers, Operations and Thematic Research
as well as Working Papers and Development
Memoirs produced by the Department to
aid Operations Departments in project
and program development exercise. For
each of these knowledge products, the
presentation focuses on the core objectives,
the key issues, the main findings, actionable
recommendations and implications for
interventions in capacity building by
ACBF or other partner institutions. FIRE
Notes also re-assess ACBF entry points
in specific capacity building operations.
While these Notes are targeted at ACBF
Operations Departments, they are available
to professionals in all capacity building
institutions. The Department in May 2008
released the first two Notes. The first
takes on the issue of the “Resuscitation
of the African Statistical Association
as a Knowledge Sharing Platform for African
Statisticians and Statistical Institutions”,
while the second examines “State-Civil
Society Relations and Implications for
Capacity Building”
You are invited to
take advantage of this new series, as
it is a source of project ideas, reforms
for project and program design and implementation,
and a tool for knowledge sharing and
information exchange.
ACBF Knowledge Management
Department welcomes your comments, feedback
and reaction to the content of the series.
