Better Governance and Public Policy

As part of its efforts to disseminate best practices in capacity building and development management in Africa, the Knowledge Management and Program Support Department of the African Capacity Building Foundation has begun a series of publications. The Book on “Better Governance and Public Policy: Capacity Building and Democratic Renewal in Africa”, edited by Prof. Dele Olowu (Institute of Social Studies, The Netherlands) and Dr. Soumana Sako (Executive Secretary, ACBF) reflects one of the fruits of such efforts. The Book highlights the relationship among political, administrative and economic governance on one hand, and institutional reforms, the public policy process and sustainable development, on the other. It also touches on aspects of capacity building, particularly the effective model offered by the ACBF-PACT framework for capacity building in Africa and the need for interface among development stakeholders at the country level to promote efficient economic management, good governance and sustainable development on the African Continent.
