INTRODUCTION

The NEPAD Secretariat was created in October 2001 to assist the Head of States and Government Implementation Committee set up in accelerating the implementation of NEPAD. In December 2004, the Executive Board approved a grant of US$ 2 million to the Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the NEPAD Secretariat project.

PROJECT GOAL

The specific goal of the project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the NEPAD Secretariat by supporting strategic organizational functions and to enhance the operational capacity of selected program clusters in order to facilitate implementation of priority programs.
