ACBF Project and Program Tracking System

The operations of the African Capacity Building Foundation are in the areas of capacity building projects, programs and knowledge management activities in six core competence areas, namely, Economic Policy Analysis and Management, Financial Management and Accountability, Public Administration and Management, National Statistics, Policy Analysis Capacity of National Parliaments and Parliamentary Institutions, and Professionalization of the Voices of Civil Society and the Private Sector. The instruments for intervention consist of national and regional projects, country capacity building programs, SAFEWIND grants, seed grant support, collaboration and exchange programs as well as knowledge generation and sharing activities. This tracking system provides information on the status of project and program proposals submitted to the Foundation. The aim is to provide a mechanism by which project promoters and other stakeholders can track progress in the processing of their requests for support by the Foundation.

This tracking system provides information on the current portfolio of the Foundation and the status of project and program proposals in five categories, namely, national projects, national programs, regional projects, SAFEWIND and Seed Grants, and knowledge management programs. Should you need further information on your proposal, kindly forward an e-mail to: Executive Secretary, ACBF, 7th Floor, Intermarket Life Tower, Cnr. Jason Moyo Avenue/Sam Nujoma Street, P.O. Box 1562, Harare, Zimbabwe, E-mail: root@acbf-pact.org

The African Capacity Building Foundation is an independent development funding Agency that was established in 1991 with a mandate to help strengthen Africa’s indigenous capacity in the area of macroeconomic analysis and development management. With the advent of the Partnership for Capacity Building in Africa (PACT) initiative, this mandate has been broadened to include capacity building support for interface between the core public sector, on the one hand, and the private sector and civil society organizations, on the other, to enable the latter two stakeholders to make an even more positive impact on the quality, transparency and responsiveness of public policy and public program design and delivery.

Naturally, like any other donor, this Foundation has its decision-making procedure and its set of project eligibility and funding criteria (click here for Amendments to Operations Guidelines). Also, our resources are limited. We may not, therefore, be able to respond favourably or adequately to all requests for funding. In the meantime, we wish to encourage you to seek out alternative/additional sources of funding for your project.

On submission of a project proposal, you will receive an acknowledgement letter from us. This will be followed by further communication on the status of your application, if and when the ACBF Secretariat makes a positive initial appraisal, in which case a Program Officer will contact you as to the way forward.
