On
18 May 2009, ACBF management and staff
met with officials from the British
Council. The meeting provided an opportunity
for both institutions to exchange information
on their activities and priorities.
Rajiv Bendre Obe, Director, British
Council (Zimbabwe) and Jason Potter,
Social Development Adviser, East and
West Africa, British Council (Kenya),
represented the British Council. Edwin
N. Forlemu, Executive Secretary a.i.;
Adeboye Adeyemo, Programme Officer,
Operations Monitoring and Evaluation
Department; Franklin Mutahakana, Program
Officer, Training Programs Department;
and Rutendo Kambarami, Outreach Officer,
represented ACBF. The two institutions
discussed potential areas of collaboration,
especially in relation to higher learning
institutions, gender empowerment and
governance. There was a consensus that
the British Council and ACBF would
strengthen communication between them
as they reflect on ways of cooperating
in areas of common interest.
