On 18 May 2009, ACBF management and staff met with officials from the British Council. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange information on their activities and priorities. Rajiv Bendre Obe, Director, British Council (Zimbabwe) and Jason Potter, Social Development Adviser, East and West Africa, British Council (Kenya), represented the British Council. Edwin N. Forlemu, Executive Secretary a.i.; Adeboye Adeyemo, Programme Officer, Operations Monitoring and Evaluation Department; Franklin Mutahakana, Program Officer, Training Programs Department; and Rutendo Kambarami, Outreach Officer, represented ACBF. The two institutions discussed potential areas of collaboration, especially in relation to higher learning institutions, gender empowerment and governance. There was a consensus that the British Council and ACBF would strengthen communication between them as they reflect on ways of cooperating in areas of common interest.
