1. Background.
For more than thirty years, the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) has been building human capital and institutional capacity for Africa’s sustainable development. With membership from 40 African Countries, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the African Union (AU), and the World Bank, ACBF is the leading institution for capacity development in Africa.
While serving all actors, ACBF recognizes the importance of and pays attention to improving the effectiveness of Africa’s public sector institutions at local, national, regional, and continental levels so that they can become effective systems integrators and catalysers of sustainable and transformative change.
ACBF has adopted its Strategy 2023–2027 to support capacity development interventions. Building partnerships and ensuring the full support of African countries are critical for the strategy’s success and impact. To encourage support for implementing the strategy and widely share ACBF’s achievements and impact, ACBF must continuously engage its stakeholders by sharing well-designed, up-to-date articles, fit-for-purpose reports, strategic studies, and graphic visuals on ACBF’s role in addressing capacity development.
Against this background, ACBF would like to engage photographers and videographers to provide photography and videography services.
2. Objective
The consultancy’s overall objective is to provide professional photography and videography services to ACBF to raise awareness of its capacity development interventions in Africa.
The specific objectives are outlined in the scope of work below:
3. Scope of work
3.1 Shoot and edit pictures during ACBF events.
3.2 Provide videography services during ACBF events and edit videos down to 3-5minute videos.
3.3 Shoot and edit short promotional videos as directed by ACBF.
3.4 Shoot and edit documentaries as provided by ACBF.
3.4 Shoot advertising and marketing videos as directed by ACBF.
3.5 Provide raw and edited video footage.
3.6 Ensure that all images and videos are captured and edited in a way that meets ACBF’s branding and communication guidelines.
4. Qualifications and Experience
4.1 Qualification in photography and videography.
4.2 At least five years’ experience as a photographer or videographer.
4.3 The candidate should provide proof of at least ten images and five videos taken.
4.4 Proficiency in photo and video editing software, e.g., Davinci Resolve, Editor Final Cut, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premier Pro.
4.5 Strong creativity, editing, and storytelling skills through video.
5. Expected Deliverables
5.1 High-resolution images as specified by ACBF.
5.2 High-resolution video footage as specified by ACBF.
5.3 Edited videos and images that meet ACBF’s branding and communication guidelines.
6. Reporting Requirements and Time Schedule for Deliverables
6. The videographer/photographer will report to the Head of Communications and Influencing, or any other designated staff member.
6.2 ACBF will specify delivery times through a Statement of Services form.
7. Consultancy Duration
The videographer/ photographer will be engaged for an initial period of two years, renewable, subject to confirmation by ACBF.
8. Working arrangements
The Head of Communications and Influencing will give clear directions to the graphic designer and will provide all the relevant information needed for a particular assignment.
The assignments are remote. The videographer/photographer is expected to use their own equipment (e.g., software, laptop, internet connection, etc.)

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Those who participated in the previous tender and have a running framework contract with ACBF in the similar assignment do not need to re-apply.
