Country Knowledge Network
2005

In February 2003, the Centre de Recherchesur les PolitiquesSociales (CREPOS) sought the support of ACBF in formalizing the establishment of a country-wide knowledge network i.e Project for the Creation of Networks to Support Development Policies known as the Reseaud’Appui aux Politiques de Developpement (RESAPOD).

The main objective of RESAPOD was to generate, scan, share and encourage effective utilization of knowledge in various areas of the development effort of Senegal. Specifically RESAPOD main objectives were to:

  • Form a community of practice that will collectively reflect on development issues, pose questions and propose solutions that could provide inputs into the country’s development efforts;
  • Provide a formalized and regular forum for diagnosing the policy problems of the Senegalese economy, making suggestions on how to revive the economy, sharing information on best practices, experience and lessons learnt;
  • Offer policy makers, policy analysts and development practitioners tools for harvesting ideas, seeking responses to development policy issues and accessing information on bestpractices and lessons of experience in the management of specific economic policies andprograms;
  • Provide space for effective interface of policymakers, policy analysts and development practitioners (be it civil society, researchers and private sector) to critically discuss and build consensus on ideas and decisions relating to development policy issues;
