The goal of the project was to improve economic and social governance in the Republic of Congo and thereby create the stable policy environment needed to establish a foundation for sustainable reconstruction, rehabilitation and poverty reduction in the Congo.

The Projet de Renforcement des Capacites de la Societe Civile et du Secteur Prive pour le Dialogue Interpartenariat en Republique du Congo (RECADIP) sought to build and strengthen the institutional and human capacity of the Congolese civil society, professional organizations of the private sector and institutions of the public sector responsible for promoting the participation of the civil society and the private sector in economic and social governance. At its 32nd Regular Meeting, in December 2004, the Executive Board approved a grant of US$ 1.5 million to RECADIP.
