Economic Policy Analysis and Management

In May 2005 ACBF board approved a 4 year grant for US$900,000 to the Government of Eritrea to support the EPAM Project whose goal was to improve the performance and efficiency of the public sector in the management of the Eritrea’s economy by: (i) building/strengthening the institutional and human capacity of selected public sector institutions (ii) improving the quality and availability of accurate, reliable and timely data for economic and social analysis, planning and to support informed policy decision-making.

EPAM Project’s goal was to contribute to: (i) enhance the skills and knowledge of public sector institutions that directly contribute and manage the country’s economic development policy and strategy; (ii) increase the number and quality of economists and other highly trained professionals that will contribute to develop the country’s capacity on economic policy and development management, fostering policies that promote growth and development and poverty reduction, and (iii) contribute to the establishment of the accounting professional body in Eritrea that will increase transparency and accountability in government.
