Established in 1985, NGOCC is an umbrella body for NGO’s addressing gender and development issues in Zambia. In 2001 ACBF support the NGOCC project aimed at contributing towards building women’s capacity to participate in decision-making in Zambia. Over the years NGOCC has played a significant role in strengthening and linking women’s organizations in the country. The main focus of NGOCC programs is capacity building, networking, communication and advocacy. In May 2007, the Executive Board approved a grant of US$ 1,204,000 for NGOCC Phase II.
The overall goal of the project was to empower NGOCC and its member organizations to contribute to the promotion of gender equality and equity in Zambia.
